Take your security system to the next level, install smoke detectors. Smoke detectors are designed to be a early detection devise and to detect a fire while in the smoke stage, an alarm sounds and the central station is notified (for monitored systems).  Smokes are a low voltage devise designed to operate from power provided by your security system and have a relay built in to trigger the alarm in the event of fire. Some smokes come equipped with a heat sensor that will trigger the alarm when heat is detected.
